Family Pet Urgent Care Services

Our caring and highly competent team of veterinary professionals is available Friday to Monday, 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. to provide care for cats, dogs and small animals with urgent, emergent and/or critical conditions.  We work with your primary care veterinarian to provide care when they are not available. Overnight care may be arranged if needed.  Please note that we do not provide wellness exams, vaccines, spays, neuters, dentals or other preventative care.

There is always one veterinarian on-site, and, similar to a human emergency room, we receive a variety of cases and work on a triage basis, meaning we will see most urgent cases first. Given the nature of our clinic, we do not take appointments, but if you call us on your way in, we can make sure that we are as prepared as possible for your arrival.

In addition to emergency physical exams, which are needed to determine your pet’s medical condition and treatment needs, we offer the following services:

Anesthesia

We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored and recorded by trained veterinary staff during all anesthetic procedures.

Critical Care Unit

Should your pet require critical care, our clinic is well-equipped, including an ICU unit. We can provide oxygen and intravenous fluid support, medication for pain and nausea, nutrition, blood products and any other treatments that are needed.

Hospitalization

When necessary, comfortable, heated and clean kennels, pens and runs are available for your pet to remain under the close supervision of our caring and competent veterinary team.

Laboratory

Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and coagulation testing on site with results available within an hour. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations if needed but usually will work with your primary-care veterinarian to schedule additional diagnostic tests or to send out biological samples.

Pharmacy

We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals to meet the needs of your pet while in our care. In some instances, we may ask you to fill prescriptions at the pharmacy of your choice due to dispensed quantity and cost savings to you.

Prescription refills will not be available through our hospital but rather through your daytime veterinarian’s office.  We can also phone in the prescription for you if the request is during business hours and if your pet is a current patient of ours in treatment.  Following State law, an exam will be required to fill any prescription request for a patient that is not in our care. We will not act as a dispensing pharmacy for your veterinarian’s office as we do not carry large quantities of medication on hand.

Radiology and Ultrasound Services

To provide quick diagnosis and high-quality imaging, our clinic offers the latest on-site digital radiography and ultrasound imaging, as well as consultations with board-certified veterinarians if needed.

Surgical Services

Our veterinarians have access to a state-of-the-art surgical suite which provides for the ability to perform of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
